Hi! I'm Amy!
I'm the face of The Sweetest Thing | Body Sugaring and the person you will see when you come in for your appointments.
The Sweetest Thing is located in the heart of Kensington inside District Studios.
I started my career in the beauty industry over 10 years ago when I went to school to become a Professional Aesthetician and Cosmetician. A couple of years into my aesthetic career I learned the art of Body Sugaring and was immediately hooked! I switched from waxing to sugaring and never looked back.
I moved to Calgary 6 years ago and was shocked to learn the amount of Calgarians who weren't familiar with Body Sugaring.
So here I am to spread the word and share my passion of Body Sugaring! I promise, once you try it you will be hooked too!
Sugaring is Our Thing!
Body Sugaring is an ancient form of hair removal that has become increasingly popular in western society.
Sugaring is a natural way to remove unwanted hair and is a safe alternative to other methods such as waxing or laser.
The sugar paste is made of sugar, water and lemon juice which is cooked down to form a thick honey-like paste.
Body Sugaring is traditionally done using the ‘ball’ hand technique where the sugar paste is molded onto the skin against the grain of growth. This method allows the sugar to seep below the surface of the skin, insuring the complete extraction of the hair.
The unwanted hair is removed with a quick but gentle flick of the wrist leaving the skin feeling soft to the touch with no sticky residue.
